Our story
Made for the hours that belong to you.
The Dorian Nocturne was created around a simple idea: what we wear in private deserves the same thoughtfulness as what we wear in public.
Quiet luxury. Natural materials. Human touch.

Our story
We believe luxury should be felt before it is seen.
Luxury does not always announce itself.
Sometimes it is the weight of a fabric in the hand.
The movement of air through an open weave.
The softness of cotton against the skin.
A button chosen because it feels right.
A garment made for a moment when nobody else is watching.
The Dorian Nocturne is our expression of that quieter kind of luxury.
The private hours
Why nightwear?
We spend some of our most private hours in it.
Nightwear sits close to the skin, moves with the body and becomes part of a daily ritual. Yet it is often treated as an afterthought.
We wanted to approach it differently.
Not as clothing designed simply to be worn at night, but as something designed for the feeling of night itself: slower, quieter and more intimate.

The name
The Nocturne
A nocturne is a work shaped by the night.
The name became a natural expression of what we wanted the brand to represent: quietness, atmosphere, intimacy and a sense of time slowing down.
The Dorian Nocturne is not about darkness.
It is about the calm that arrives when the day finally becomes quiet.
The material
Where tradition meets a new ritual.
We were drawn to Kota Doria for something deeper than its appearance.
Its open structure, delicate hand and relationship between cotton and silk create a textile that feels light, breathable and distinctly tactile.
For us, the beauty is not simply in the pattern.
It is in the way the pattern is made.
The construction
Two layers. One feeling.
Each TDN nightwear piece is built in two layers.
An outer layer of Kota Doria brings the openness, texture and character of the textile.
An inner layer of 100% cotton cambric creates a softer layer against the skin.
The two are designed to work together rather than compete.

Human touch
Every thread has human touch.
We believe the value of a textile is not only measured by what it looks like when it is finished.
It is also found in the decisions made along the way:
the thread,
the weave,
the construction,
the hand,
the finishing,
and the care taken over details that most people will never notice.
That is why we prefer materials and construction that allow the human element to remain visible.
Less, but better
Nothing unnecessary.
Our approach to design is intentionally restrained. We do not want nightwear covered in decoration, branding or unnecessary detail. We want the material, silhouette and construction to do the work.
Natural materials
Materials chosen for their tactile character.
Quiet design
Details that reveal themselves slowly.
Longer life
Pieces designed to remain relevant beyond a season.
Design philosophy
Design begins with how something feels.
We start with the material rather than decoration. Then we consider how it moves, how it touches the body, how it catches light and how it belongs to the quiet hours of the day.

The palette
Quiet by design.
Our palette is intentionally quiet. Natural neutrals allow the texture of the textile to remain visible, while restrained color gives each piece its own atmosphere without overwhelming it.

The people behind the material
Respecting where the material comes from.
Kota Doria is part of a living textile tradition rooted in Rajasthan.
Our relationship with the material begins with respect for that tradition — its history, its techniques and the people whose knowledge keeps it alive.
We do not consider the craft a decorative detail. It is the reason the textile has meaning.
Modern interpretation
An old textile. A different purpose.
Kota Doria has lived through many forms and uses over generations.
We are not attempting to recreate those forms. We are interpreting the textile for a different ritual: contemporary nightwear.
The intention is not to make tradition look modern.
It is to let a traditional material live naturally in a modern wardrobe.
What we refuse
What we leave out.
No plastic-based garment materials
Where our garment construction is concerned, we choose natural textile layers rather than synthetic plastic-based fabrics.
No excess
We prefer quiet construction over unnecessary decoration.
No noise
We do not believe luxury needs to be loud.
The first collection
Four expressions of the same idea.
Each design is offered through our Cotton Edition and Silk Edition, allowing the same philosophy to take different material expressions.

For the hours that ask nothing of you.
Slow down.
Put on something that feels considered.
Let the day become quiet.
